This position works out of our Caguas, PR location in the Structural Heart division.

**This is an exempt role** .
As the **Continuous Improvement Engineer** , you’ll be responsible for determining the most efficient sequence of operations through evaluation of human work factors, quality control, inventory control and production coordination. Establishes methods for maximum utilization of facilities and personnel. Conducts studies to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control and production record systems.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Apply Lean principles to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations departments within the manufacturing facility.
+ Develop manufacturing solutions that support the operations strategic directives through the application of statistical methods and performing mathematical calculations.
+ Analyzes, creates and develops facilities layout to support cycle time reduction and productivity improvements. This includes meeting with suppliers or vendors, staff and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, and presenting project status.
+ Perform capacity analysis for headcount and equipment, as well as maintaining labor standard and headcount/ equipment profiles.
+ Offer technical support to other departments in flow, ergonomics and productivity projects.
+ Develops and maintains productivity metrics.
+ Identifies and eliminates non-value added activities using continuous improvement tools and DMAIC methodology.
+ Develop manufacturing methods, labor and equipment utilization methods and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff, materials and facility utilization. This includes analyzing BOM and routing processes focusing on business strategies.
+ Ensure compliance with all procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
+ Lean Manufacturing and/or Project Management certified are a plus.
+ 5+ years of experience in operational excellence and managing productivity projects.
+ Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish).
+ Proficiency in PC based tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Project and Power Point), AutoCad and general web-based applications.

The base pay for this position is $53,300.00 – $106,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
