Content Strategist

**What You'll Do**
As our new Content Strategist, you'll join the storytelling team responsible for bringing the Principal brand to life across digital channels—including LinkedIn, Meta, Principal.com, email, and more! You'll collaborate across the company to uncover compelling stories and turn insights into content that connects with a wide range of audiences, from business owners to retirement participants.
**What You’ll Do:**
+ Concept, complete, and guide content projects that align with our brand voice and achieve business goals.
+ Develop marketing content for various mediums and audiences—social, digital, email, web, and beyond.
+ Collaborate with partners across the company to mold message strategy and align on project direction.
+ Support the improvement of our editorial standards and processes, with a focus on digital excellence.
+ Review and provide feedback on work from team members, vendors, and other departments to ensure consistency in brand voice and visual style.
+ Champion improvements in how we build, deliver, and manage content.
+ May coordinate select projects or team members.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Who You Are**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, or marketing.
+ 4+ years of experience writing or editing in marketing, journalism, publishing, or agency settings.
+ Experience in financial services is a plus.
+ Skilled in writing clear, compelling, user-centered content for digital platforms.
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fast-paced environment.
+ Strong collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Sharp attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
+ Able to balance multiple projects while staying focused on quality and consistency.
+ Quick to learn and apply editorial and brand standards.

**Salary Range Information**
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
**Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)**
$71250 - $95950 / year
**Time Off Program**
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
