Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. KBLR Telemundo Las Vegas is looking for a dynamic, bilingual Digital Reporter/Content Producer to join our multi-platform news team. This role is responsible for identifying, creating, and delivering compelling local content across broadcast, digital, OTT, and social platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who is passionate about community-focused journalism, thrives under deadline pressure, and can create content optimized for both traditional and emerging media audiences.   • Select, assign, write, and organize news stories. Write headlines, teases, and reporter lead-ins • Write new scripts, promotional teasers, headlines and topicals. • Contribute story ideas, participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings. • Assist in the overall production, content, and elements of each newscast. • Collaborate with news producers, managers and photographers across the group to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce Telemundo news specials and packages based on either breaking or pre-planned stories • Communicate with news producers, assignment editors and managers across the division regarding local story development, progress in the field and/or breaking news stories. • Gather information, conduct interviews, shoot video, write, edit and report assigned stories • Generate video, images and/or information for our digital and social media platforms • Contribute creating content for KBLR’s multiple platforms like digital, fast channels, OTT and social. Qualifications/Requirements: A degree in Broadcasting, Journalism or related field. • A minimum 1 or 2 years news writing experience. • Spanish and English languages proficiency (reading and writing). • Applicants must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered. • Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shifts and willingness to work long hours, weekends and holidays with short notice. • Must be willing to work in Las Vegas, NV. • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation. • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must have a valid Driver’s License. Desired Characteristics: Strong news writing skills. • Ability to write, edit, produce and gather content under heavy deadline pressure, without compromising accuracy or credibility. • Significant experience in a news environment. • Strong journalistic skills. • Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile. • Strong computer skills, with basic understanding of multi-media file formats. • A pioneering spirit with the desire to learn emerging technologies. • Passion to develop and present story ideas. • Invested and engaged in the local community and authentically understands and represents the local viewer. •Strong Video Editing skills.
