What Manufacturing Planning contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Manufacturing Planning is responsible for the forecasting, planning and scheduling of manufacturing resources, including equipment and labor resources to efficiently achieve manufacturing goals as defined by internal and external customer expectations. Responsible for distribution of finished goods. Addresses conflicts and constraints in manufacturing to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction.

Job Summary

The Senior Coordinator, Manufacturing Planning contributes to the site’s efficient production and high service levels by supporting the Supervisor, Manufacturing Planning and Production teams. The Senior Coordinator develops daily and weekly schedules and reports on service levels, inventory, and production levels. This job also defines production priorities using demand and production forecasts and adjusts schedules as necessary in response to changing demand or production issues.

Responsibilities

Develops daily and weekly schedules using the facility’s information system for a certain portfolio of products and based on overall production needs, daily and weekly production levels, inventory levels, and critical customer orders, prioritizes work orders within the schedules.Runs daily inventory reports in order to ensure that the site has the necessary components required to complete forecasted production.Makes adjustments to weekly and daily schedules based on changes in demand, inventory reports, and production issues. Following Supervisor review of adjustments, communicates adjustments and new schedules to Production Managers.Develops weekly and monthly reports on service levels so that site management can review service levels for each family and part number.Develops monthly reports on planned production versus actual production and demand versus actual production to evaluate how effectively production and planning adhered to customer demand throughout the month.Communicates with Production teams as necessary to understand causes of underproduction in a given day or week, and adjusts schedules accordingly.Reviews monthly demand forecasts shared by Supervisor or Specialist, Manufacturing Planning in order to develop daily and weekly schedules.

Qualifications

2-4 years of experience, preferredHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
