Work Location: Hybrid/flexible schedule with supervisor approval after initial training, which means there's an in-office expectation and the flexibility to work outside the office location, subject to supervisor approval.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Consumer Banker will use a holistic approach to proactively provide financial solutions and maintain deposit & loan relationships. Manages portfolio in a manner that ensures compliance with banking regulations, policies and procedures, credit quality and credit policy requirements. This role supports the growth of loan production and core deposits by identifying opportunities, structuring credit solutions, and ensuring a superior client experience. Responsibilities include performing credit analysis, making credit decisions within delegated authority. In this role, you will need excellent people skills to interact with customers, business partners and public to solicit, develop, manage, and retain client relationships.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
+ Develop and cultivate relationships by providing consistent and effective communication and services to new and existing customers.
+ Manage existing client relationships. Act independently & as a team in making financial recommendations on banking and lending products.
+ Gather client information to facilitate a streamlined account opening process- including completion of loan applications and collection of information required to make credit decisions.
+ Evaluate loan applications through comprehensive credit analysis, including underwriting, assessment of debt-to-income ratios, loan-to-value calculations, and review of credit history.
+ Make sound credit decisions within assigned lending authority in accordance with established bank policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
+ Partner with retail, consumer and commercial bankers providing direct and backup support as necessary.
+ Actively participate in existing client and potential new client meetings.
+ Respond promptly to customer issues, questions, or concerns.
+ Handle customer complaints with appropriate action to resolve them.
+ Facilitating 2x2x2 follow-up process to deepen relationship and looking for cross-sell and referral opportunities.
+ Understanding features and benefits of banking and lending products including bank deposits, certificates of deposits, credit cards, residential mortgage products, home equity lines of credit, securities-based loans, high net worth tailored lending products & commercial credit products.
+ Represent bank in community through networking, speaking/presenting, events and professional involvement to generate new client relationships and deepen existing.
+ Proactively work toward achieving branch sales and customer service goals
+ Demonstrate commitment, dependability, and respect for team members, including regular and predictable attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.
+ Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
+ Special projects and other duties as assigned or needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
+ Minimum two-yearlendingexperience (consumer or commercial) with direct experience in loan origination and deposit growth in the financial services industry
+ Demonstrated experience in credit underwriting, reviewing consumer loan applications with calculation and review of debt-to-income ratios, LTV collateral calculations, credit bureau review.
+ Demonstrated success in building lasting client relationships and meeting production goals.
+ Ability to communicate with external customers and internal employees in a professional manner.
+ Outgoing and self –motivated
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Knowledge of bank compliance, regulations, and underwriting guidelines
+ Patience and problem-solving ability
+ Proficient with organizing, facilitating, leading, and negotiating with customers and team members.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Strong consultative sales and relationship management skills.
+ Strong knowledge of consumer deposit and loan products.
+ Strong sales and new business development skills
+ Thorough knowledge of private banking products & services including credit processes
+ Strong networking & business development skills
+ Ability to partner with clients to identify and service unique customer needs.
+ Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
+ Knowledge working within the Encompass platform.
+ Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
+ DE and/or SARS certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily work in office. Will evaluate hybrid schedule after training is complete.
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
