**Description & Requirements**
We are seeking an experienced reporter to cover the fast-moving world of financial regulation under President Donald Trump and its effects on consumer and investor protections. This high-impact beat will examine how decisions by U.S. regulators—such as the dismissal of major crypto lawsuits, efforts to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the potential release of Fannie Mae from conservatorship are reshaping the financial landscape during a period of aggressive deregulation.
**We’ll expect you to:**
+ Break news on key developments in the financial regulatory space, with a focus on consumer and investor protections
+ Build and maintain strong sourcing within regulatory agencies, trade groups, legal experts, and the financial industry
+ Collaborate with reporters across teams to deliver smart, in-depth enterprise stories, especially on emerging sectors like cryptocurrency and fintech
**You’ll need to have:**
+ A proven track record of breaking news and producing impactful enterprise journalism
+ Deep interest in financial policy, regulatory trends, and their real-world implications
+ Strong sourcing and reporting skills, especially in complex or opaque institutions
+ The ability to explain complicated financial and legal topics clearly and compellingly to a broad audience
Salary Range = 115000 - 140000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
