Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building a new service to provide a highly scalable and low latency key-value store for data plane workloads. We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. If you like working on replication, consensus algorithms or database storage engines, this is the right role for you. Our consulting member of technical staffs are senior engineers who are very deep into the technology, in this role, you will work with a team of software engineers responsible for the software architecture and development of major components. You should be comfortable with low level operating systems development, be able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Our consulting member of technical staffs are also the people who can work independently and provide technical leadership to the organization. You should have experience developing and operating high-scale services, and understanding of how to make these cloud-scale services resilient. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and productive; someone who knows how to balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements. You understand operational excellence and know how to infuse a culture of being proactive within your team. You recommend and justify major changes to existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches.
