Consulting Member of Technical Staff – Agent Engineering
Oracle
Are you ready to embark on a journey that will revolutionize healthcare and improve patient outcomes on a global scale? The Oracle Health division is leading the charge in healthcare innovation, and we are seeking an exceptional Consulting Member of Technical Staff (CMTS) to join our Healthcare Agents Engineering team, where you will be at the heart of this transformative mission.
The Role
As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff – Agent Engineering (IC5), you will be a key contributor in designing and building the foundational infrastructure that powers Oracle’s next-generation AI agents. These agents are designed to automate complex healthcare workflows—from clinical decision support to patient communication to reimbursement processes. Your expertise in backend systems, data platforms, and distributed architecture will directly enable AI-first solutions that drive outcomes for clinicians, patients, and healthcare operations. Responsibilities Architect and implement scalable backend services and data platforms to support autonomous agents in clinical, patient-facing, and revenue workflows. Lead the development of core agent infrastructure, including orchestration, memory, tool use, and agent chaining capabilities. Build and optimize real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines using technologies like Kafka, Flink, Ray, and RabbitMQ. Design and implement advanced search and retrieval systems to support RAG pipelines and semantic access to structured and unstructured healthcare data. Ensure platform security, privacy, and regulatory compliance, with strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare-grade data handling. Collaborate with AI/ML researchers, product teams, and healthcare experts to deliver production-grade intelligent agents. Contribute to conversational reasoning interfaces, long-running workflows, and interaction models between agents and end users. Drive architectural decisions, code quality, and reliability best practices across the team. Mentor junior engineers and help scale a world-class engineering culture within the team. Stay current on emerging trends in AI infrastructure, multi-agent systems, and healthcare technology to help shape platform direction. Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field. 10+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, ideally in domains with high reliability and scale. Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages, and building RESTful APIs and microservices. Deep understanding of cloud-native development and infrastructure (OCI, AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization, and CI/CD practices. Experience with distributed systems, data processing frameworks (Kafka, Flink, Ray), and search technologies (OpenSearch, Pinecone, Vespa). Strong knowledge of system design principles, data architecture, and secure data handling practices. Exposure to LLMs or agent-based architectures is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Demonstrated technical leadership and experience mentoring engineers. Why Oracle Health? Help shape the future of healthcare by building intelligent AI agents for real-world clinical and operational impact. Collaborate with a world-class team working on a greenfield initiative at the intersection of AI and healthcare. Work with cutting-edge technologies in cloud-native systems, generative AI, and multi-agent orchestration. Make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and healthcare providers. Enjoy competitive compensation, benefits, and growth opportunities within Oracle’s global organization. If you’re excited to apply your engineering expertise to build the foundation of autonomous healthcare, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to join the Oracle Health Agentic Experience team.
