GENERAL FUNCTION : As a Consulting Enterprise Database/Data Architect at Fifth Third Bank, you will serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing enterprise-scale data/database architectures. You will partner with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data/database solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise goals. This role requires deep expertise in database technologies, data modeling, and architecture patterns, with a strong consulting mindset to influence and guide cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities + Enterprise Data Architecture LeadershipLead the design and evolution of enterprise data/database architecture across cloud and on-prem platforms, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements. + Consulting and Technical ExpertiseAct as a trusted advisor to engineering and business stakeholders, providing guidance on data strategy, architecture patterns, and platform capabilities. + Platform Engineering CollaborationCollaborate with platform engineering teams to support initiatives such as CA$H Platform, AWS migration, and secure cloud framework development + Database Optimization and GovernanceDefine and enforce standards for data modeling, performance tuning, and database lifecycle management across on-prem, and cloud-native databases + Innovation and ModernizationDrive modernization efforts including automation, observability, and integration of AI/ML capabilities into data platforms. + Mentorship and Thought LeadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to the Consulting Engineer community by sharing best practices and participating in calibration discussions SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
