Global Liquidity under Global Payments Solutions (GPS) IT is a critical part in HSBC. The liquidity services comprise of a suite of global applications that help corporate treasury department to manage their company liquidity. Key services that we cater to are pooling, cash concentration, intercompany loans, cash flow forecasting, liquidity investment solutions. Global Liquidity Services are both vendor products and in-house built products, running on SaaS models, public clouds and internal clouds.

One of the four Service Pillars is the "Data Analytics and Dashboarding". The Liquidity Data Service functions as a reporting and billing engine, the vision is for it to become the data repository for all Liquidity Data, which will allow for internal analytics and expose to client to provide dashboard services. This role will be part of Data Analytics and Dashboarding team, working with the global liquidity business, operations, and various teams related to achieve product excellence and serve global Liquidity customers effectively.

Principal responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Engineer with expert-level knowledge in logical and physical replication to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in database administration, replication strategies, and automation using DevOps tools like Ansible and Jenkins. Experience with Google Cloud and other cloud platforms is a plus.

Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL replication (logical and physical) for high availability and disaster recovery.Optimize database performance, tuning, and query optimization.Automate database deployment and management using Ansible, Jenkins, and scripting (Bash/Python).Develop and maintain backup, restore, and failover strategies.Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database scalability and reliability.Monitor database health, security, and troubleshoot replication issues.Implement best practices for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.Work with Google Cloud (Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, GKE, GCP networking, IAM, monitoring) and other cloud platforms.
