What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Third Party Governance Office (TPGO), the  Consultant, Third-Party Strategy and Governance plays a critical role for supporting strategic approaches for the third party governance function at CIBC.  This role supports third party control & deficiency management and applies knowledge of project management, controls/governance expertise to deliver industry best practices in this discipline.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you’ll succeed

Governance & Oversight. Supports the team towards strategic outcomes by reviewing risk and deficiency closure packages to ensure closure activities are sufficient and closed timely; Supports control testing and documentation acting as a centralized point of contract between control performers and testing team.

Focus on Innovation and Simplification. Strive for continual enhancement of quality and contribute to system and governance process simplification.

Effective Risk Identification. Working with business partners, investigates and conduct business analysis to ensure third party themed deficiencies are properly tagged within the Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) system.

Stay Current with Best Practices. Our team constantly looks for ways to improve stakeholders experience, staying up to date with industry best practices in risk and governance.

Who you are

You have demonstrated experience in Risk Management and strong knowledge of risks, controls and process improvement

You have a degree/diploma in Business Management and/or a related field of study.

You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
