Consultant, Technology Analyst (Integration)

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically savvy Consultant, Technology Analyst to join our Integration Consulting team within Technology Integration Platforms BSA. This role will serve as the technical face of Nationwide’s digital products(A digital product is a software-based solution that delivers value to users through a digital interface such as APIs, embedded experience, or Event streaming ), guiding partners through onboarding, integration, and enablement efforts. Acting as a technical consultant and thought leader, this person will shape and improve the partner experience, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and influence the strategic evolution of our onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a trusted technical advisor for external partners integrating with Nationwide’s digital products, including APIs, widgets, and event streaming solutions.Collaborate with partners to understand integration needs and work with Architecture, and Engineering teams to recommend scalable and efficient solutions.Own and continuously improve partner-facing integration documentation and onboarding playbooks.Capture best practices and reusable integration patterns to accelerate future onboarding efforts.Manage and evolve our SharePoint site to improve discoverability and accuracy.Work closely with UX Designers, Product Owners, and the Enterprise Digital Portal team to translate business epics into clear, actionable user stories. Familiarity with Generative AI tools to streamline and accelerate requirements creation is a plus.Provide feedback loops from real-world partner experiences to enhance developer tooling and partner experience on our digital platforms.Communicate effectively with business and technology leaders, influencing decision-making and gaining alignment on recommendations.Build strong partnerships across business and technology teamsInfluence outcomes and lead opportunities for process and technology improvements

As a Technology Analyst you will partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes as well as provide all types of analysis skills related to understanding and meeting business outcomes. You will translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management. A Technology Analyst should have broad technology and analysis experience including: facilitation with large stakeholder groups, managing the complete requirements lifecycle, conducting structured analysis using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, analyzing data and application suites, and problem-solving using a collaborative style. Technology Analysts are engaged in work efforts at all scales ranging from minor defect fixes and enhancements to development of new applications. You will also work on all types of solution approaches (e.g. custom development, package implementation) and domains (e.g. all application types, data warehouses, Web, and Cloud).

Key Responsibilities: 

With strong knowledge, partners with the business leaders and other technology professionals to understand business needs and outcomes.

Translates multiple business outcomes into solution requirements.

Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

Manages complex requirements and ensure business alignment using facilitation and visual management techniques.

Leads and/or executes the preparation of detailed documentation and clarifies moderate to complex work products requirements.

Provides complex analysis related to understanding and meeting business outcomes.

Drives with others to verify, trace and manage functional and non-functional requirements.

Possess a strong understanding of the applications used to support the business in a specific Business Solution Area(s) (BSA).

Conducts multiple quality improvements by providing complex analysis of relevant data.

Drives the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation.

Leads requirement sessions with business leaders and other technology professionals using visual facilitation techniques.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:  Reports to Technology Manager or Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education:   Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred.

License/Certification/Designation:  Technology certifications or designation are not required but encouraged.

Experience:  Eight years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Experience with delivering Technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms and/or lines of business (LOB) within the insurance and/or financial services industries. Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements. 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Master analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning.  Ability to influence, negotiate and set priorities needed. Ability to facilitate requirement sessions using visual techniques with senior leaders.  Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
