What Product and Solutions Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

Marketing is responsible for assessing customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. Marketing implements the strategy through developing, commercializing and monitoring the appropriate products and services.

Product & Solutions Marketing is responsible for defining the product/service and market strategy and  life cycle management including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability.


Job Summary

The Consultant, MCO Marketing plays a pivotal role in defining, developing, and executing go-to-market strategies that drive engagement with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), health plans, and payor networks. This role is essential to expanding our national insurance coverage footprint, commercializing new and existing plan access, and strengthening our ability to care for more patients through deeper collaboration with clinics, prescribers, and care teams across the U.S. 

This highly strategic and creative role blends customer need identification, market research, pricing, positioning, promotion, and lifecycle marketing. The ideal candidate brings expertise in the managed care landscape—paired with the ability to translate data and insights into compelling narratives and campaigns that can be implemented across digital and traditional channels. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with sales, category, and network teams to drive adoption, loyalty, and profitability in the MCO space. 


Responsibilities

Payor Marketing Strategy & Execution

In conjunction with the Director, develop and execute commercialization playbooks for new and existing plan access, tailored by product category and aligned with overall business strategy. 

Partner with MCO to develop and execute member transition plan and deliver campaigns that drive contract pull-through. 

Continuously optimize downstream marketing by recommending new models, processes, or performance frameworks that enhance engagement and impact.

Content Creation & Storytelling 

Craft compelling narratives that combine data, patient insights, and strategic messaging to support payor engagement, plan marketing co-campaigns, and prescriber communications. 

Produce MCO newsletters, call templates, and policy updates to maintain mindshare and drive awareness among health plans and internal teams. 

Create educational content for payer, prescriber, and patient audiences, including one-pagers, content for digital campaign assets, case studies, tradeshow activations, and playbooks by strategic category.

Market Intelligence & Relationship Building 

Stay up to date on industry trends, policy updates, and deal structures across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid markets. 

Summarize relevant articles monthly for the MCO team; maintain a shared knowledge library. 

Develop tools to support contract pull-through, including volume driver insights, 5-star plan analysis, Spanish-language plan strategies, and onboarding experience documentation. 

Co-Marketing Collaboration with Plans 

Partner with health plans on patient enrollment and education efforts; co-develop campaigns to improve member engagement. 

Build and maintain templates for call preparation, including key decision-maker insights, plan goals, and opportunities for co-branded outreach. 


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Health Policy, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

4-8 years of experience preferred

Strong understanding of fee-for-service and reimbursement structures such as PMPM, risk-based, and capitation models. 

Proven ability to commercialize access and execute marketing strategies within the DME, home health, or pharmacy space. 

Strong written, verbal, and visual storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into compelling business cases and campaigns. 

Highly collaborative, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders. 

Familiarity with MMIT data, 5-star plan performance, and patient onboarding workflows. 

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. 

Comfort with Salesforce, PowerPoint, and campaign automation platforms. 

Basic understanding of omni-channel marketing, strategy development and deployment.

Anticipated salary range: $79,700 to $113,800
