What You'll Be Doing

As a Consultant, Infrastructure Risk Management, you will be part of the Infrastructure Operations & Networks (ION) Audit, Risk, & Compliance team and will act as an Audit and Risk consultant/advisor responsible for ensuring compliance with CIBC’s Policies, Standards, Processes and Controls related to Risk and Compliance. In this risk-focused position, you will act as a trusted advisor, championing a strong risk culture and ensuring proactive identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks across infrastructure operations. Your expertise will help safeguard CIBC’s technology environment and ensure ongoing compliance with internal and external risk requirements. You will be supporting internal audits, tracking deficiencies, assisting in ensuring controls are in place to meet regulatory requirements, participating in stakeholder meetings to provide updates on risk and compliance activities and raising issues as needed. You will be also assisting in identifying gaps between current processes and compliance requirements and supporting remediation initiatives as well as helping to develop or revise tools and templates to manage and govern in-scope controls and processes.

How You Will Succeed

Risk Identification & Assessment: Proactively identify, assess, and document technology and operational risks within Infrastructure Operations & Networks. Analyze emerging risk trends and recommend mitigation strategies.

Audit and Risk Control Support: Lead and support risk-based audits and control assessments. Track risk remediation commitments, monitor outstanding deficiencies, and provide clear, risk-centric status updates to management.

Risk Reporting & Communication: Prepare and deliver insightful risk and compliance reports to stakeholders. Clearly communicate risk exposures, control weaknesses, and action plans, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of risk management methodologies, tools, and templates. Support the development and implementation of best practices for risk governance and internal controls.

Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in risk-focused meetings, providing subject matter expertise and raising risk issues promptly. Foster a risk-aware culture through education and effective communication

Who You Are

You have 1-3 years of experience in technology risk management, with a strong understanding of Infrastructure Operations & Network processes, such as ITIL, Application Operations, Network Engineering and Operations.

You possess foundational knowledge of risk management, audit, and compliance principles and are eager to deepen your expertise in infrastructure and technology risk.

You are detail-oriented and analytical, with strong critical thinking skills to identify potential risks and control gaps.

You are a collaborative team player who values relationship-building and is committed to supporting a strong risk culture.

You are client-focused and solutions-oriented, committed to delivering results that protect the organization.
