Position Focus – Operations: Executes several functions which include, but are not limited to, CyberGrants administration, data analysis, and strategic special projects. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Community Connect system, manage defects, customization, improvements and development of future system capabilities. Manages data projects and advising leadership to define, structure and execute analytic projects. Analyzes trends and patterns, synthesizes and communicates meaningful insights to the business and other partners. Develops and implements data management practices. Serves as a resource to leader on department’s strategy development and planning. May lead multiple projects concurrently.
Position Focus – Associate Engagement & Community Impact: Enhances both the public and associate awareness of Nationwide as a respected corporate citizen, while positively impacting the quality of life of people in one or more communities. Plans, manages and evaluates Nationwide Corporate Citizenship initiatives and programs in associate volunteerism and workplace giving for communities across the country. Leads all aspects of the day-to-day operation of corporate sponsored community-service related projects, corporate giving programs, or related associate programs. Serves as a liaison to community organizations and agencies. Functions as the team lead on projects that support corporate public involvement objectives in the community.
Position Focus – Marketing & Communications: Leads the planning, development and implementation of complex internal/external communication programs/projects. Designs and provides consultation to senior management on tactical communication plans for the organization and/or specified business unit. Advises clients and proposes, implements and evaluates strategies designed to help achieve business goals. Builds positive relationships with clients through trust, teamwork and knowledge to produce communications.
Position Focus – Program & Project Management: Manages the Office of Corporate Citizenship's campaigns, programs and projects to achieve desired results. Recommends, implements and manages policies and procedures for existing and new processes. Manages business administration functions that support the business needs of the area.
Position Focus – Campus Integration & Activation: Improves both the public and associate awareness of Nationwide as a respected corporate citizen, while positively impacting the quality of life of people in primary and secondary markets. Executes Nationwide Corporate Citizenship initiatives and programs related to corporate philanthropic investment, officer/leader engagement, associate volunteerism and workplace giving. Carries out the day-to-day operation of corporately sponsored community-service related projects, corporate giving programs, and/or related associate programs. Partners on projects with nonprofit partner organizations.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director or Executive in the Office of Corporate Citizenship
Typical Skills and Experiences:Education: Undergraduate studies with business related courses in areas of public relations, marketing, and communications, social services, and/or project management; degree preferred.
Experience: More than seven years of experience related to corporate charitable projects, familiarity with Nationwide’s community programs, and familiarity with Nationwide’s corporate structure preferred. Demonstrated experience leading and influencing at all levels of the organization and within the nonprofit community.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of business principles, including communications, project management, system administration, marketing, media relations and promotions, charitable program development and funding and change management principles. Strong ability to lead and influence. Exercises sound, ethical judgment to positively influence others towards common goals. Ability to influence without authority. Ability to build collaborative relationships to solve problems and achieve goals. Ability to initiate actions in ambiguous situations based on one’s own interpretation or understanding of a situation to complete tasks and obtain results. Ability to develop and monitor programs with a high degree of complexity. Strong communication skills including ability to articulate complex concepts effectively with internal/external contacts to include senior leadership, officers, managers and other corporate/nonprofit contacts.
