Job Description

AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Quality Control Specialist with experience in MEP for our project in Chicago, IL. 

Participate in subcontractor pre-installation meetings to review quality expectations and installation sequencing,Collaborate with superintendents, foreman and subcontractors to ensure workmanship quality and consistent execution,Perform regular field inspections of completed work to ensure it meets approved plans, specifications, and contractual requirements,Review completed installations with a focus on building system including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression and fire alarm.,Identify, document and track non-conforming work, verify corrective actions and track resolutions to closure,Maintain detailed inspection records, daily records and deficiency logs,Assist in the continuous improvement of field quality practices by identifying recurring issues and recommend process changes, andSupport turnover activities by verifying documentation completeness and system readiness.Develops and applies advanced quality assurance/control theories, as well as research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies. Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach, as well as organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems. Reviews project process and evaluates results. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.Conducts investigations and tests that are of moderate to considerable complexity. Provides technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS Engineering, Construction Managment or similar curriculum and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Must possess a valid driver’s license to access client property and travel to various property site locations.

Preferred Requirements:

Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering, construction quality, management or commissioningGeneral knowledge of trades including architectural, structural, civil, and specialty systems.Proven experience inspecting completed work for compliance on commercial, industrial or infrastructure projectsAbility to interpret construction drawings, specifications and submittalExcellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of writing clear field reports and corrective action noticesOSHA 30 certification required or willingness to complete once hired.
