Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Quality Specialist – Civil to join our site-based project team in Ontario. In this role, you will ensure civil works comply with quality standards, project specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful quality outcomes in the field.
ResponsibilitiesConduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor the quality of civil works, including earthworks, concrete, utilities, roadworks, and structural components.Review and enforce implementation of Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and construction drawings in accordance with project specifications.Verify materials, workmanship, and testing activities comply with Ontario Building Code (OBC), CSA standards, and client-specific guidelines.Witness field and laboratory testing (e.g., concrete slump, compressive strength, soil compaction, rebar inspection), and ensure accurate documentation.Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformances (NCRs), and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).Maintain quality records, inspection logs, daily reports, and material traceability.Collaborate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical and quality-related issues efficiently.Participate in internal and external quality audits, and assist in preparing reports for client leadership.Promote continuous improvement and adherence to safety and environmental standards.Essential SkillsExperience with Ontario Building Code (OBC) & CSA codes & standards.Quality experience: ISO 9001 and related codes.7-12+ years of overall quality experience.Experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and aligning them with the codes and standards.Managing contractors experience.Experience with compaction & backfilling.Pre-pour/post-pour inspection experience.Experience receiving materials, granular A & granular B.Basic proficiency in MS Office.
The site is located 20 minutes away from London, ON and requires a fully onsite presence for 40 hours per week, comprising five 8-hour shifts. Overtime is expected after 6 months. This position offers the opportunity to work on a first-of-its-kind billion-dollar greenfield project that is critical in supporting the future of the EV battery supply chain.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
