Construction Purchasing Agent II

Our customer is seeking a Construction Purchasing Agent II with hands-on experience in both residential and commercial construction, including high-rise, hotel, military, and subdivision projects. The ideal candidate has worked on projects valued at $10M and up, and is comfortable managing full-cycle procurement from design planning through final build-out.
This role supports turnkey ground-up developments in Texas. You’ll collaborate with developers, PMs, and estimators to manage budgeting, scheduling, trade buyout, and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead procurement efforts for projects, with a focus on $10M+ budgets.
• Review construction plans, specs, and contracts to determine purchasing needs.
• Issue and manage purchase orders; ensure timely procurement and delivery.
• Develop and issue RFPs; manage bid packages, bid leveling, and vendor selection.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage vendor onboarding, prequalification, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with legal on NDAs and vendor agreements.
• Align procurement with project schedules and budgets; track long-lead items.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize pricing and service levels.
• Analyze market trends and pricing data for cost forecasting and risk management.
• Collaborate with estimating and PM teams on budgeting, scheduling, and trade buyout.
• Work across all trades, including specialty scopes like concrete, renovation, and DOD/Army Corps projects.
• Use tools like Excel, Procore, Smartsheet (P6) for procurement tracking and reporting.
