Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Materials Technician to perform soil and concrete tests on industrial and retail projects primarily in the Dallas area. The role involves conducting various tests such as slump tests, pressure tests, soil density, and gradation, with occasional opportunities for out-of-town assignments in Austin, where a per diem will be provided. The technician will communicate progress with on-site superintendents and internal team members, requiring basic writing and math skills.
ResponsibilitiesConduct soil and concrete tests on industrial and retail projects.Perform slump tests, pressure tests, soil density, and gradation.Communicate test results and progress with on-site superintendents and internal employees.Utilize basic writing and math skills for reporting and communication.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience in density testing.Hands-on experience in construction materials testing.Ability to perform various tests including soil and concrete testing.Basic writing and math skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ACI and NICET.Experience working outdoors and in hands-on roles.Adaptability to different schedules and willingness to work overtime.Work Environment
The role involves working outside in various weather conditions. Candidates will need to load and unload testing equipment from pickup trucks. Start times vary between 1am and 6am depending on job scheduling, with an average of 40-60 hours per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
