Job Description
We are seeking both entry-level and mid-level Construction Materials Technicians to join our team. You will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in our laboratory. Our employees will provide comprehensive in-house training.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors about construction sites, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection outcomes.Transport material samples with appropriate documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations through written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites as needed.Adhere strictly to safety standards and provide clear documentation of findings and results.Progressively take on increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.Essential SkillsExperience or certification in ACI, WAQTC, concrete, asphalt, materials testing, nuclear gauge, soil testing, construction materials testing, concrete inspection, and quality control.Proficiency in nuclear density gauge, geology, and soil sampling.Strong communication and computer skills for logging daily field reports and sending emails.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious construction materials testing experience is advantageous.Bachelor's or Associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field.Work Environment
This is an on-site, full-time role with work hours ranging from 8 to 12 hours a day, subject to weather conditions. While 40-hour weeks are not guaranteed, the position offers a company vehicle, cell phone allowance, and a company laptop. Employees receive hands-on training for entry-level civil, geotechnical, or environmental roles. The company offers paid certifications and additional training, is employee-owned, and provides profit-sharing opportunities.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
