Job Title: Construction Materials Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to conduct tests on concrete for slump, density, and moisture within our laboratory. This role includes in-house training by experienced employees and requires communication with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other stakeholders regarding construction site details, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection results.
Responsibilities
+ Test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab.
+ Communicate with project stakeholders regarding construction site, project requirements, and testing results.
+ Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
+ Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
+ Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
+ Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
+ Adhere to strict safety standards.
+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
+ Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Essential Skills
+ Reliability and dependability.
+ Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions for extended periods.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Associates Degree.
+ Previous CMT or construction experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prefer: ACI or other related certifications.
Work Environment
The work will primarily be conducted on site across various projects within the state of Kentucky, with almost all tasks requiring day travel only. Transportation will be provided, starting each morning at the Shelbyville office, followed by travel in a company truck with others. Potentially, you may drive a company truck independently in the future. Equipment will be provided for all tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
