Facility Engineering Services, a Burns McDonnell company, is looking for a Construction Manager that has a desire to apply their experience and industry knowledge by performing constructability reviews of project designs to ensure construction is executed smoothly with minimal risk to the client. This opportunity is full-time, Monday through Friday, working day-shift at the Kansas City National Security Campus facility in Kansas City, MO. Occasional evening and weekend work is necessary to support construction schedules.

Responsibilities include:
Primary Role: Perform quality assurance reviews on design packages by coordinating design documents with field conditions, specifications, site requirements, and applicable codes to ensure designs meet quality standards and are able to be constructed in an efficient and effective manner. Provide timely feedback to design team members regarding issues, conflicts, and required corrections, and create documentation of reviews for historical recordkeeping.Role may also include:
Working as an Owner’s Representative on a wide portfolio of simultaneous construction projects at the facility. Project include a wide range of scopes from small to complex with varying schedules.Interacting with the client and contractor’s team to execute the construction scope and to communicate regular status updates or construction-related issues such as work procedures, complaints, and impairments to utilities or surrounding spaces.Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, production quality, and other established requirements.Where needed, getting direction or clarification from the multi-discipline project design team.Actively developing relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction.Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.Other duties, as assigned.
