The Construction Manager will lead geotechnical and materials testing projects, manage staff, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. This role includes client engagement, mentoring junior team members, and overseeing project budgets and documentation. The Construction Manager will also support business development and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesLead geotechnical and materials testing projects.Manage project staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.Engage with clients to maintain strong relationships.Mentor junior team members, particularly those with 3–5 years of testing or construction experience.Oversee project budgets and documentation.Support business development initiatives.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Essential SkillsHands-on experience with soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials testing in commercial/educational construction.Proven ability to lead projects from proposal to final deliverables.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Clear and tactful communication with clients and stakeholders.PMP certification.Project engineering expertise.
Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or Construction Management (or 5+ years of relevant experience).Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.Strong leadership and team-building skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

The role is based in an office located in Springfield, MO, with both field and office-based work. The team consists of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
