Priority needs include: Mechanical/welding experience Electrical background is a plus Night-shift availability
JOB DESCRIPTION
Pre-Construction Activities
• Attend pre-construction meeting onsite.
• Complete paperwork and online forms for cyber access and any other
security needs
• Secure badge and computer as applicable
• Review drawing package, project contract, project specifications,
project/contractor quality plan and construction schedule.
• Confirm site and contractor work hours and schedule during pre-
construction meeting.
• Site supervisor should be available to be onsite during this time. Any
days missed should be coordinated with the project manager.
• Coordinate construction logistics (i.e. laydown, break tent, bathrooms,
etc.) with contractor and operations staff.
• Obtain and familiarize themselves with a copy of OPC Safe Work Practices
Handbook.
Day - to - Day Activities Onsite
Lead daily job briefings and/or tailgate safety briefing meetings. Site supervisor is company representative and shall be a safety champion. Expect site supervisor to be engaged and vocal in briefings, understanding work scope for the day, necessary resources, simultaneous operations, and mitigation plans. Assist site with ensuring all contractors receive safety training and LOTO training where needed. Coordinate with site personnel in obtaining LOTO for the contractor and any permits (i.e. confined space or hot work) needed. Collect and properly retain the following as required: Daily contractor roster Certifications (i.e. welder certs, rigging certs, etc.) Daily inspection reports Lifting Plans All other job documentation Provide Quality Control oversight; ensure contractor supplied equipment and installations meet project specifications and general expectations. Act as a point of contact between the contractor and the site and/or project manager
Participate in the following safety activities:
• Ensure contractor and subcontractors have the required PPE to perform their
task.
• Site supervisor is to participate in JSA / task hazard analyses and ensure
proper pre-job planning complete.
• Ensure contractor adheres to Company/Contractor Safety Protocols.
• Notify plant personnel and project manager if any safety violations are being
made by contractors or subcontractors.
• Record any safety observations or hazard reductions during the duration of the
construction period. Submit a minimum of two per week.
• Implement incident response procedures as necessary in coordination with site and project leadership.
• Coordinate with contractor, project manager and/or plant personnel any hold
points for inspection of work
• Produce a daily report that captures the following:
• Number of onsite contractors specific to the project
• Any potential issues or concerns in relation to safety, schedule, material,
personnel, or other general concerns.
• Daily work summary describing the activities that were accomplished that day.
• Upcoming work planned.
• Participate in status meetings with the contractor and project manager.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
