Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Manager for immediate employment in Orange, CA.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Oversee and manage the construction management staff on transportation-related construction projectsProvide leadership and direction to both field and office staffServe as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring clear and effective communicationCoordinate all aspects of construction with contractors, clients, and stakeholdersDevelop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestonesMonitor and control project budgets, identifying and mitigating potential cost overrunsEnsure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and contract specificationsConduct regular site inspections to assess progress and address any issuesManage the submittal and RFI processes, ensuring timely responses and approvalsOversee change order management, including evaluation, negotiation, and implementationPrepare and present progress reports to clients and upper managementFacilitate dispute resolution between project stakeholders when necessaryCoordinate with local authorities and utility companies for permits and relocationsImplement and maintain project management software and documentation systemsMentor and develop junior staff members to enhance team capabilities

The Construction Manager is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex transportation projects effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 8 years or more of relatable or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

California PE License

Motor Vehicle check required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within Caltrans or railroad ROW

Experience with utility relocation

Technical Writing skills 

Experience managing public works transportation projects with construction value $20M+. 

Excellent Communication Skills 

Strong understanding of industry standard processes for submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and pay applications 

Experience with dispute resolution
