In this role, you will lead the delivery of a complex hospitality or mixed-use development project in the Kingdom, ensuring successful execution from concept and design development through construction and handover.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Overseeing the design management phase including coordination of consultants, architects, and engineers to ensure design quality, compliance, and alignment with project objectives.
Leading multi-disciplinary design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering workshops to optimize project delivery.
Acting as a bridge between design and construction, offering insight into construction techniques, sequencing, and best ways to resolve design challenges.
Bringing clarity to designs through constructability reviews, enabling contractors to progress with accurate pricing, efficient methodologies, and minimal disruption due to potential design flaws.
Ensuring smooth transition from design approval into construction, resolving technical issues between design and execution phases.
Directing and managing all on-site construction activities in line with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Reviewing and approving design submissions, shop drawings, materials, and equipment to ensure adherence to design intent and project requirements.
Developing design-informed execution strategies, construction schedules, resource plans, and milestone tracking to meet project objectives.
Coordinating across the full project lifecycle with project managers, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of design and construction.
Leading site inspections, design compliance checks, safety audits, and quality reviews.
Preparing and presenting detailed design and construction progress reports to senior management and clients.
Managing scope changes, design modifications, and project risks while ensuring contractual compliance and schedule adherence.
Driving best practices in design coordination, construction methodology, and technical excellence.
Representing Parsons in all design-related and construction-related meetings with clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (Master’s preferred).
15+ years of experience across design management, design review, and construction management on large-scale hospitality/mixed-use or iconic developments.
A proven track record as a professional with experience in both design and site construction activities, ideally with a design-and-build background or similar.
Strong ability to offer constructability insight and practical solutions, guiding contractors toward efficient execution while preventing disruption from design flaws.
Demonstrated expertise in managing design consultants, architects, and engineers, as well as a commanding presence when dealing with contractors (during procurement and post-award phases).
Proficiency in pre-construction planning, design validation, cost analysis, progress tracking, and risk management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to chair design coordination and construction progress meetings.
Familiarity with international design codes, building regulations, safety standards, and QA/QC protocols.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Professional registration (e.g., PMP, PE, Chartered Engineer, Architect) highly preferred.
Prior experience in concept design, schematic design, or design approvals with government/regulatory bodies.
Parsons’ internal PM certification or equivalent is an advantage.
