Job Description
The role of Construction Manager involves overseeing all aspects of large-scale federal construction projects from initiation to completion. You will develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and work plans while coordinating with government agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success. The position requires preparing and submitting reports, including RFIs, change orders, and progress updates, and monitoring project performance to implement necessary adjustments to stay on schedule and within budget.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate contractor submitted shop drawings and submittals.Document construction methods, materials, jobsite safety, and progress.Interpret plans and specifications and provide detailed recommendations to the onsite Government Construction Administration team.Assist with scope development and cost estimates for modifications.Evaluate modification proposals and develop the pre-negotiation memorandum.Ensure expertise with military codes and criteria, as well as local and international building codes.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.5+ years of experience managing federal construction projects.Knowledge of federal contracting procedures.Experience with government agencies such as the DoD, GSA, VA, NAVFAC, or USACE.Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and safety regulations.Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of construction inspection and change order processes.Experience in construction management within the federal sector.Work Environment
The position is based in the USACE Office in Tulsa and involves working in a construction site environment. The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule during normal business hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $60.09/hr.
