Construction Manager
Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description Project Managers are responsible for all aspects of the project including contracts, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, environmental, and ethics compliance. They plan, direct, and lead project teams to ensure objectives are completed in conformance with schedule and budget. Responsibilities + Lead the project team by managing, teaching, and mentoring to create an efficient and effective project team and a positive working environment. + Ensure all work meets quality standards and is performed in compliance with contract and permit requirements. + Responsible for the financial success of the project by ensuring accurate tracking of financial progress and completion of labor, cost, and forecast reports weekly/monthly. + Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. + Review project proposals to determine and coordinate time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and resource allocation. + Utilize a CPM baseline schedule and provide monthly schedule updates submitted and approved by the client to ensure timely completion of work. + Ensure adequate resources including management staff, crews, equipment, and supplies are available to the project. + Effectively communicate contract changes, entitlement arguments, and time/cost impact analysis. Responsible for all contract negotiations with clients and vendors. + Work as a member of the estimating team during the project procurement phase. + Practice safe work standards and promote an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment. + Lead and directly supervise employees on a construction site, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws. + Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. + Direct best work practices in conjunction with the VP/Area Manager. Essential Skills + Project management + Construction management + Change order and RFI management + Project coordination + Civil construction + Construction documentation + Project engineering + Document control Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, construction management, or related field. + Minimum of 10 years of construction experience. + Recent experience as a construction project manager, preferably within heavy civil or marine construction. + Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required. + Experience with marine, structures, heavy lifts, or concrete construction preferred. + Experience with HCSS & Primavera preferred. + 30-hour OSHA certification preferred. + Fall Protection Competent Person preferred. + First Aid/CPR Certification preferred. Work Environment Work will be conducted both in the office and on job sites. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $79.32/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
