THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager, or a high-performing supervisor ready to advance, to oversee the onsite delivery of substation infrastructure projects across New South Wales. This position operates on a Drive-In/Drive-Out (DIDO) model with a 10:4 roster. You will play a key leadership role in one of Australia’s most vital infrastructure programs.
This role goes beyond mere project oversight; it offers you the opportunity to influence safety, culture, and quality in projects that contribute to our renewable energy future.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Lead field teams and subcontractors to deliver project milestones safely, on time, and to spec.Manage day-to-day site operations including resource planning, scheduling, and documentation.Champion a Zero Harm culture — lead by example in all safety and environmental practices.Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure smooth delivery and transparent communication.Ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and Downer standards.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a practical leader who thrives in complex site environments and brings out the best in your team. With a solid grounding in power infrastructure and a commitment to safety, you know how to get things done, without cutting corners.
Trade or tertiary qualifications (Electrical/Civil preferred); Certificate IV in WHS is a bonus.Strong site-based experience in substation or power transmission projects.Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and deliver to tight timelines.A collaborative mindset with great communication and stakeholder management skills.
