Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team in either the Greenville or Columbia office. This individual will serve as a leader within the team, overseeing multiple projects, managing key deliverables, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Duties to Include:
Receive general supervision from and assist senior inspector in the performance of their dutiesReview, interpret and understand construction plans, specifications, and shop drawingsMonitor conformance to quality, performance, and specifications by performing inspection dutiesPerform daily field inspections and maintain inspector's diaries detailing contractor's workPerform field materials testing proceduresComplete daily contractor pay item measurements and calculationsTrack quantities for monthly pay estimatesWork at heights, on ladders, and on aerial lifts as requiredWork adjacent to live traffic, around water, and in adverse weather conditionsDemonstrate understanding of safety practices in the construction industryMaintain a flexible schedule, as hours will be set according to the contractor's schedule and may include late hoursCoordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely completion of inspectionsPrepare and submit detailed inspection reports to supervisors and clientsIdentify potential issues or non-compliance and recommend corrective actionsAttend project meetings and provide updates on inspection findingsStay updated on relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standardsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma plus 2 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid U.S Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewDue to the projects associated with the position a US Citizenship is requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience on both highway and bridge construction projects in South CarolinaACI Field Testing Technician-Grade I certificationSCDOT Level 1 & 2 Concrete Inspector certificationSCDOT Foundations Inspector certificationSCDOT Earthwork Base Course TechnicianSCDOT Asphalt Roadway TechnicianNuclear Guage Safety CertificationCEPSCI (Certified Erosion Control Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector)Additional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
