Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Construction Materials Inspector to support geotechnical engineering, special inspections, and materials testing on military and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in earthwork and concrete inspection, with credentials that meet or exceed military project requirements.
ResponsibilitiesPerform field and laboratory testing of soils and concrete in accordance with project specifications.Conduct special inspections on military bases and other government facilities.Monitor earthwork operations including grading, compaction, and backfill.Inspect concrete placement, reinforcement, and curing processes.Prepare detailed field reports and communicate findings to project engineers and clients.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract documents.Essential SkillsNICET Level II in Soils is required for military project access.Experience in construction materials testing and inspection, ranging from 1–4+ years.Familiarity with military project protocols, such as those at Navy bases and JBLM.Strong communication and reporting skills.Ability to travel between JBLM (Tacoma) and PSNS (Bremerton) for projects.US citizenship with the ability to be cleared for highly secure projects on federal sites.Additional Skills & QualificationsNICET Level II in Reinforced Concrete or ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector is preferred.GIT (Geologist-in-Training) license with at least 1 year of earthwork experience is an acceptable alternative to NICET.ICC Soils Special Inspector is considered, but not preferred for military projects.WABO registration for reinforced concrete inspection.Work Environment
The position requires traveling between different locations such as JBLM in Tacoma and PSNS in Bremerton. The role involves working in highly secure federal sites, adhering to protocols required for military projects. The work environment demands strict compliance with safety and security standards.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
