Job Title: Construction InspectorJob Description
We are seeking construction inspectors to contribute to a state-funded project involving the construction of roads and other civil transportation projects in rural Utah. Collaborate with a dynamic team to create innovative solutions for community engineering, overseeing all phases of work to ensure proper assembly and adherence to specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Meet regularly with the job site superintendent to address scheduling and quality issues.
+ Conduct construction observations to ensure projects adhere to plans and specifications.
+ Communicate effectively with the engineer and project owner about any issues.
+ Create and submit change orders as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of construction, inspection, and civil engineering practices.
+ Experience in construction inspection or transportation building.
+ A minimum of one year of construction/civil inspection experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certifications in inspection are a plus, but certification opportunities are available.
+ Knowledge of UDOT regulations and inspection certifications is highly desired.
+ Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs regularly and push and pull 50 lbs or more.
Work Environment
The position involves working 50 miles east of Bluff, Utah, near the Four Corners area on transportation projects. Accommodation is provided in hotels with transportation access to the worksite. Work is performed both in an office and outdoors in an uncontrolled atmosphere, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather conditions for short periods. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with hours varying based on project needs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
