Responsibilities Serves as the head of field operations and “Master Builder” in the AMS&T Division, advising teams from pre-sell, preconstruction planning, and through closeout on all topics related to field execution, including but not limited to site utilization, construction logistics, sequencing/phasing, workforce, quality assurance and control, systems startup, etc.Enforces and monitors reporting requirements and accountability metrics for jobsite safety and qualityLeads the deployment of site services in coordination with Enterprise site services teamParticipates in monthly Project Vitals / Project Financial Forecasts (PFF), Claims Assessments, and Health Assessments and takes immediate action(s) with project teams to keep projects on track without surprisesCoordinates staffing/resource management for field rolesEngages in the community, growing and fostering relationships in the local market with subcontractors, unions, trade training programs, etc.Supports the success of superintendent and field staff through recruiting, training, mentoring/coaching, career development, and related activitiesResolves jurisdictional disputesSupports preconstruction and job pursuit efforts including site logistics planning, constructability reviews, scheduling development support, staffing requirements, and site general requirementsHas oversight of all superintendents within the Division, providing input on staffing, performance, and career developmentSupports business development and client relationships as neededParticipates in National Superintendent and Operations Managers Peer Group and spearheads enterprise initiativesResponsible for the career development and coaching of team membersFosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersInterprets and translates the organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing strategic goals QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management20+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in the lead construction manager or senior general superintendent role on large projects in the Life Sciences/Phama & Biotech or Advanced Elecronics sectorOSHA 30-hour certifiedSTS-C Certification (desired)First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed TrainingOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong technical and communication skills are criticalAbility to work in a team environmentLeadership and management skillsAbility to participate in sales process, interviews and must have strong presentation skillsAbility to coach and lead Superintendents and Field Staff from preconstruction phase (presentation) through construction (execution)Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other industry standard construction software tools, Familiarity with Lean Construction and Pull Planning ProcessAbility to work in tandem with Safety Director to achieve Division safety goals and establish a “safety first” culture
This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
The pay ranges from $176,000-$266,200 plus benefits and retirement program.
