Job Description Summary:

As a part of Corporate Accounting, this position supports various aspects of the preparation of the global consolidated financial statements and related information for the company. Consolidations tasks for this role include, but are not limited to, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, global consolidated financial statements and other financial schedules. In addition, this position will also support various aspects of the Company’s Finance Transformation efforts, drive process improvement, ensure process documentation and controls compliance within group, and work on cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

This position works with internal and external auditors, domestic and international business units and our various corporate functions such as corporate treasury, tax, payroll, external financial reporting and benefits accounting, technical accounting, controls, and enablement finance.  A successful candidate will need to have the ability to work in a high-pressure team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues.  Further, building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson’s mission, core values, and team behaviors are critical.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Incoming junior, senior or MAcc/MBA at least one year of school remaining. Accounting or Finance majors required. Candidates considering further education after degree completion must highlight this on their resume to ensure full consideration.Experience: Previous work experience in any field is preferred. Work experience within the internship discipline is strongly preferred but not required.Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point required.Special Skills: Ability to multitask, motivated self-starter, and collaborative.Work Hours: Must be able to work 40 hours through the summer and up to 20 hours throughout the school year as classes allow.Application Requirements: Resume must state your expected graduation date and your area of study.Location: Students must be within commutable distance to the facility, which is 60 miles or less.
