About the Role

As Configuration Manager for the JP9101 Program at Babcock, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of configuration and data management systems across the full product lifecycle.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate product baselines, ensuring that all engineering solutions align with business objectives and comply with internal governance and external standards.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring you to guide a team in the application of CM and DM principles including configuration identification, change control, verification, status accounting, and audits.

You will act as a key technical liaison between internal stakeholders and Commonwealth representatives, ensuring transparency, compliance, and knowledge transfer across all aspects of the program’s configuration landscape.

About You

You are an experienced Configuration Management professional with a deep understanding of complex engineering programs and the discipline of product lifecycle management.

You are highly proficient in applying CM and DM tools, techniques, and standards, and are confident representing these areas in audits, technical discussions, and stakeholder meetings.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

 

Extensive relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles. Proven experience in managing applicable CM/DM function and/or technical delivery. Excellent understanding and application of configuration and data management processes and toolsets (e.g. PLM, MRP and ERP systems). Ability to identify, develop and implement process, procedural and system improvements. Track record of achievement of technical data management and configuration management. Previous Configuration Management experience within Defence or Defence Industry (desirable)
