Hiring for a Configuration & Document Control Manager!
Job Description
We are seeking a Configuration & Document Control Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of technical documentation, drawing control, and configuration data for gas turbine manufacturing and packaging projects. This role is critical in supporting multiple engineering disciplines by ensuring data integrity, BOM accuracy, and compliance with OEM standards. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have experience in managing both documentation systems and cross-functional groups. This individual will serve as a liaison between engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams, ensuring that controlled documentation flows efficiently and accurately throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
+ Manage configuration and document control activities, ensuring alignment with organizational and customer (OEM) requirements.
+ Supervise a small team or coordinate cross-functional contributors to ensure timely processing and release of engineering documentation.
+ Maintain and control Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP for manufacturing and packaging of gas turbine units.
+ Ensure adherence to document version control, audit trails, and secure access protocols.
+ Conduct internal audits of document management practices to ensure compliance with OEM requirements and industry standards.
+ Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to coordinate timely release and updates of technical documents.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives in document control and configuration management workflows.
+ Train staff and stakeholders on document control processes, systems usage, and best practices.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact during audits or customer reviews related to document and configuration records.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in configuration management and document control.
+ Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.
+ Technical writing and data entry skills.
+ Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
+ Project coordination and engineering administration experience.
+ Knowledge of AutoCAD and inventory management.
+ Experience with gas turbines and power systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members in a technical environment.
+ Formal presentation capabilities and experience participating in audits and interfacing with external customers.
+ Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
Work Environment
The office is centrally located in Glastonbury near many restaurants and high-end shopping. The building is a semi-high rise with modern and sophisticated decor. The attire ranges from business casual to business dress, depending on meetings or client visits. The company specializes in mobile power generation derived from Pratt & Whitney Engines, bringing power all over the world. The work environment is dynamic, focusing on both legacy and new aero derivative product offerings in the 30 to 140MW power generation business segments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
