About the IS Operational Experience Portfolio:

Our software business systems are built to provide efficiency and functionality to our branch offices and warehouses, allowing Expeditors to provide outstanding customer service and competitive rates. Our internal and external systems are an integrated suite of collaborative supply chain software applications that are designed to assist our operations teams and customers in managing international and domestic shipping challenges.

The document management team focuses on building and sustaining the digital creation, storage, and movement of documents related to shipments, supply chain, customs, and accounting.

Job Description:

We are looking for a technologist that will partner with us to change our world by enabling our teams to deliver their products more efficiently, reliably, and quickly. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing GitLab/GitHub runners/actions and Ansible playbooks in a distributed environment to standardize and automate our business application team's build, test, and deploy pipelines.

We need you to be a go-getter who is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve our infrastructure, take pride in your excellent customer service, and collaborate well amongst different teams. You work well in a team environment and know how to work with your colleagues to bring out their best. As part of our team you will contribute to continuous improvement, demonstrating DevOps-in-practice, and collaborating across multiple teams.

What you will be doing:

Playing a key role on a collaborative agile development team, responsible for the design and production of mission critical, enterprise-scale applicationsTranslating requirements into system design specifications and the implementation of systems throughout the entire software development life cycleDeveloping a thorough understanding of the logistics business domainMaintaining an awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a wholeInfluence the design and technical direction of the team and its systems

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environmentStrong scripting skills (Bash, Python)GitLab/GitHub, Ansible automation experienceSkills in debugging system-level issues in either Unix or LinuxAbility to formulate a design strategy from a mix of business requirements, concept documents, and verbal descriptionsExperience with DevOps / Infrastructure as CodeExperience with monitoring frameworks, like Prometheus/Grafana or ELK stackExperience with database technologies, ideally DB2 and PostgresSQL skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $100,000 to $145,000

May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position
