Computerized Machine Operator (CMO) – TDI

Working at our Dayton site:

TDI has been leading design and manufacturer of turbine powered start systems for 40+ years and designer of turbine air motors for over 60 years. The TDI site in Dayton, OH is a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company. Unison is uniquely positioned to introduce the next-gen Air Turbine Starter for the CMF56-7B fleet. At the TDI site, Unison also produces Surface Coolers and Bellows to support the aerospace industry.

Role Overview:

Be proficient and perform CMO operations in assigned cellUse pneumatic tools, hand tools and calibrated gauges to perform workOperate machine(s) in a prescribed safe mannerPerform daily preventative maintenanceVerify calibrationMaintain eQuals requirementsUse standards shop measuring devices (calipers and micrometers)Basic housekeeping of cell (5S)Review, understand and follow work instructions, required specifications and blue prints to perform manufacturing operations.Ensure all company paperwork is filled-out accuratelyFully understands blueprintsIdentify revision levelsProduce error free productsMeet production goalsCross trainWork under general direction with minimal coaching in a team environmentWork to established Lean Manufacturing guidelinesUnderstand safety requirements within assigned area and operate within the company safety guidelines.Basic understanding of processes in one area within your home cellKeeps team informed of work progress, timelines, and issuesWill also perform other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate:

Perform essential duties and responsibilities in service cells which includes working with a variety of computerized/manual machines and manufacturing operations

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or General education Degree (GED)6 months of manufacturing related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior assembly and/or disassembly experience; prior machine operating experienceExperience with manual or automated welding processExperience using calipers, micrometers and other gages used to perform inspection.Education or experience in programming and operations in programmable controllers.PC experience in use of email, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Word.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and a cellular work environment.Ability/prior experience reading and understanding routers and process instructionsTube bending experienceCVP in Hydro and/or BoroscopeKnowledge of swage, shrink processesStrong attention to detailExcellent customer service to co-workers, customers, and vendors; works collaboratively and respects all othersEmbraces ambiguity and engages others in idea generationActively participates and support a team environment

Additional Information:

Wages $22.50 per hourOccasionally, the business requires mandatory overtime. Must be able to work overtime, when requiredWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day.Must be able to work with upper body extremities.Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis.Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on occasion. Items more than 30 pounds will be lifted with assistance.Required to pass certification standards test and eye examinationWilling to undergo on-the-job training in order to obtain CVP certification within first 6 months as an Associate CMOWilling to participate in MRO drug free workplace program
