Summary About the Position: Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights. Position may be filled by temporary promotion not to exceed one year and may be extended for an additional year. Competitive temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition. Responsibilities Works with the store stocking supervisor and crew members to integrate and maintain the Computer Assisted Ordering Technician system. Interfaces with all levels of store management on Computer Assisted Ordering issues as needed, and deals directly with commercial distributor representative and vendor stocking representatives on issues affecting Computer Assisted Ordering. Evaluates stock levels of all Computer Assisted Ordering categories daily, by physically reviewing the storage and display shelf locations, shippers and warehouse. Maintains the Computer Assisted Ordering system with current, accurate data to ensure optimal order quantities are calculated necessary to sustain customer demands. Processes requests for customer special orders; monitors paperwork and ensures product is ordered in a timely manner, keeps in contact with customer to advise on status and ensures product is ready for pickup. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes duties such as working with automated ordering systems; performing inventories; clerical, office, or other work experience that demonstrates the ability to do repetitious work accurately and knowledge of basic arithmetic skills. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Clerical Customer Service Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
