Job Description
The Compounding Technician is responsible for lab functions that include preparing formula and compounding records, as well as compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Lab Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and the goals of the organization.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations.Follow all policies and procedures.Demonstrate strong comprehension of USP 795.Maintain a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software.Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records.Compound medications accurately and efficiently.File necessary paperwork.Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties.Pull outdated medications for destruction.Maintain compliance with company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.Perform other duties as assigned, including inventories and ordering, assisting in finding, stopping, and expediting specific orders, and project work.Essential SkillsLaboratory experience or Degree in the Sciences.Pharmacy Technician experience.Pharmacy Technician certificate or certification.Strong understanding of quality standards in pharmacy and compounding.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust register as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Wisconsin prior to submitting resumes.Access to Pharmacy Letter, APC, and opportunities to earn the PTCB Certification.Training and advancement opportunities available.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The dress code requires scrubs, and the company provides two pairs as work attire. Employees must be comfortable standing at a lab bench for the entire shift. The pharmacy closes at 6 p.m., ensuring no late-night shifts. The location offers a supportive and enjoyable team environment with a low turnover rate, indicative of a positive company culture. Employees are offered two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $23.00/hr.
