Job Summary
A Compounder prepares and accurately documents raw materials for manufacturing requirements.
Job Responsibilities
• Compounds (blends, mixes) raw materials and distributes to extrusion equipment areas.
• Mixing different raw materials together using scales, volumetric cylinders, tumblers, and other mixing equipment.
• Legibly writing on containers and record keeping.
• Shaking, rolling, and mixing containers as required.
• Keep a clean, neat workplace.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations - Naphtha in area.
• Climate: Temperature range from 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit to sustained periods.
• Lifting: Up to 70 pounds periodically to a height of 48 inches. Use of pallet jack to move up to 1500 pounds. Roll cart with up to 50 pounds of weight as necessary
• Reaching: Up to a height of 72 inches approximately 2 lbs. unit weight.
• Normally no special clothing is required; however at times, a white laboratory coat/coveralls; gloves and masks may be required.
• Includes rotations with Jar Washing responsibilities
Qualifications
• The ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations
• Physical condition demands being able to lift, push, pull, standing for sustained periods, etc., as outlined in number seven (7), eight (8) and nine (9) above.
• Must have basic mathematical skills and be able to read and write legibly
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
• Any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our production objectives.
