Composites Technician Job Category: Service Contract Act Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local * * * **The Opportunity:** CACI is seeking a skilled Composites Technician to join our team in support of prototype development and low-rate production of unmanned aerial systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with composite layup, tooling preparation, part trimming and finishing, and minor structural repairs. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and build instructions, and a strong background in composite fabrication processes used in aerospace applications. **Responsibilities:** • Perform layup and fabrication of composite parts using wet layup, vacuum bagging, and other composite techniques • Prepare molds and tooling for use in fabrication, including cleaning, sealing, and applying release agents • Trim, fit, and finish composite components using hand tools and power tools by engineering requirements • Interpret and follow build instructions, engineering drawings, and technical documentation • Identify and report fabrication defects or deviations from design specifications • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety and quality standards • Work collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to support rapid prototyping and production builds **Qualifications:** _Required:_ + Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one + Experience in composite part fabrication, including layup, vacuum bagging, curing, and trimming + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, build instructions, and technical specifications + Familiarity with the use of composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and core materials + Proficiency with hand and power tools used for trimming, sanding, and finishing composite parts + Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production environment + Ability to lift and manipulate medium to large parts and work in a shop environment _Desired:_ • Experience supporting prototype or low-rate production builds in an aerospace or defense environment • Knowledge of composite repair techniques and rework procedures • Familiarity with pre-preg layup and oven/autoclave curing processes • Experience documenting fabrication processes or contributing to build documentation This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
