Job Requirements
Selects alternate component and sources Maintains the Approved Parts List (APL) or (AVL) Approved Vendors ListApproves all changes, additions, deletions BoM with minimum help from Component LeaderMember of Material Review Board (MRB) and change implementation boardAssigns inventory part numbers and constructs standardized descriptions for all new partsReviews all requests for new components to assure that a current part can satisfy the requirements.Establishes and maintains a specification system for off-the-shelf parts.Generates specifications for all new custom component parts with electronic design teamCoordinates failure analysis and corrective activities on component partsEstablishes standard titles for componentsMaintains current descriptions to the standard format.Flags obsolete parts.Consolidates duplicate parts and reduces inventory.Assists design engineers in the selection of parts that best fit their requirementsValue engineering (cost reduction).Participates in design reviews for the purpose of component selection and standardization.Authorizes ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) written against component and specificationsPerform the reliability prediction (e.g... MTBF) of the board level and requesting the reliability information of component from manufacturers if required.Prepares procedures for Incoming Q.A. when they do not seem to have a level capability for sophisticated component testing.Cost Analysis for components used and selected for new programs.Component End of Life (EOL), Availability, Lead-time and Pricing.Risk Management. Alert of Obsolete or Change of Cost Effectively because of EOL or PCN notice

Work Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree with (6-10) years of industry experience
