Compliance Transformation Projects Manager

As a Compliance Transformation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in a large-scale global transformation program involving the design and deployment of integrated finance platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Coupa, and other transformation projects. This role requires an experienced compliance leader to ensure that the end-to-end implementation of financial systems is compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and other applicable internal controls and global standards. You will be responsible for a range of activities aimed at designing, identifying, documenting, and mitigating risks related to financial processes (Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report and Capital Expenditures), in collaboration with Project Management teams, Global Process Owners, other business areas, IT, internal/external auditors and external consultants. Your efforts will contribute to developing and maintaining a robust internal control environment and supporting successful internal and external audits. **CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s financial processes such as P2P, R2R, and GL and identify appropriate SOX controls applicable to each finance cycle. + **Compliance Strategy & Governance:** Lead the development and implementation of SOX-compliant frameworks for all new finance applications. Define internal control objectives aligned with global policies. + **Control Design & Documentation:** Establish and document fit-for-purpose SOX controls across financial processes. Ensure alignment with GPOs, auditors, and key stakeholders. + **Risk Identification & Mitigation:** Identify gaps, assess financial system risks, and develop detailed mitigation strategies. Oversee remediation planning and tracking across cross-functional teams. + **Process Mapping & Audit Readiness:** Lead efforts to develop end-to-end process flows with clear control checkpoints. Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits. + **Testing:** Perform controls testing through-out the projects phases such as SIT/UAT, support during Hypercare, and other project phases. Develop test scripts and ensure successful testing as per timeline. + **Global Application Integration:** Ensure compliance controls are embedded from design to deployment across systems like S/4 HANA, Coupa, and other transformation projects. Manage impacts from integrations and interdependencies. + **Stakeholder Management:** Act as a liaison between Compliance, Finance, IT, and Business Operations. Champion a culture of proactive risk management and transparency. + **Training & Knowledge Transfer:** Provide coaching and training to key process owners and users on control responsibilities and documentation requirements. + **Change Management & Business Enablement:** Collaborate with change leads to align compliance initiatives with broader project goals. Ensure smooth adoption of new processes and controls. **REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:** + Bachelor's degree is required in accounting, Finance, Business or related focus (e.g. business administration/economics). Master’s or CPA/CA preferred. + Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in financial controls, risk management, SOX, or internal audit in global organizations. + At least 5 years in ERP/system implementation or transformation programs involving SAP S/4HANA, Coupa, or equivalent tools. + Prior Big 4 or consulting experience preferred. + Deep understanding of SOX compliance, internal control frameworks (COSO, PCAOB standards), and ability to translate business processes into compliant system designs. + Strong skills in process documentation, including Visio, ARIS, SAP Signavio or similar tools. + Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities. + Comfortable working across time zones and cultures. Able to navigate ambiguity and complexity in global programs. + Ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information. + Motivated, self-starter with ability to learn quickly. + Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including ability to translate across various lines of business. + Willingness to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally, as required by business needs. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
