Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist III to join our Global Trade Compliance team! This remote role must be located near Madison, WI with the ability to travel to site. This role requires a basic understanding of international trade laws, excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. You will collaborate with various departments and team members across the globe to ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with global trade regulations.Coordinate import/export processes, including classification (HTS/ECCN), valuation, country of origin determination, and documentation.Conduct internal audits and post-entry reviews, leading all aspects of corrective actions and remediation plans to mitigate risks to the company.Screen orders for compliance with trade regulations and company policies.Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on global trade compliance requirements and standard processes.Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of global trade compliance policies and procedures.Work closely with internal departments, such as Legal, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Support, to ensure compliance with trade regulations and support business operations.Liaise with government agencies, customs brokers, and other external parties to resolve compliance issues and facilitate smooth trade operations.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import and export transactions and compliance activities.Find opportunities for process improvements and implement standard methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the trade compliance program.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulations and standards.

Key Knowledge:Education: Bachelor's degreeExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in global trade compliance or a related field.

Key Competencies:Basic knowledge of global trade regulations and compliance requirements.Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Strong written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional and cross-cultural team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and trade compliance software.

Other Requirements:Ability to travel, as needed, to support business operations and compliance activities.Local to Madison, WI.
