Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Compliance Specialist to work in Fresno, CA. This position is also open to remote work; however, the client is in California and it is expected that this individual's working hours align with Pacific Time. This role offers a career-defining opportunity to support construction compliance efforts on the largest infrastructure project in the nation that is redefining transportation in the state of California.
SUMMARY:
The compliance specialist plays a key role in ensuring environmental commitments are accurately tracked, reported, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing mitigation compliance information in a proprietary database, preparing compliance reports, assisting with construction-phase documentation, and coordinating with construction contractors and permitting staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Code environmental commitments from environmental and permit approval documents into the EMMA databasePrepare reports in EMMASupport the environmental compliance manager using EMMA for construction compliance demonstrationAssist with construction-phase compliance reportingTroubleshoot, document, and resolve data quality issues related to data storage in the EMMA databaseComplete quality control and auditing efforts to track environmental complianceAssist with document control in SharePoint and other applicationsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS in environmental planning, biology, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in construction compliance tracking, documentation, and reportingExperience with design-build contracting and construction processesExperience with database management applicationsFamiliarity with state and federal environmental laws and regulations (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA], California Environmental Quality Act [CEQA], Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act, and Section 1600 of the California Fish and Game Code)Experience working on large, complex environmental compliance programsAdditional InformationTravel may be required.Sponsorship is provided.About AECOM
