Yes County Albany Street Address 50 Wolf Road City Albany State NY Zip Code 12232 Duties Description Duties Description:The incumbent will perform Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification activities in the Contract Audit Bureau’s DBE Certification Unit under the supervision of a Compliance Specialist 2 (SG-23). Primary duties will include, but not be limited to:• Analyzing information related to DBE firms or applicants to determine if DBE eligibility standards are fully met. Information may include Corporate documents, financial records, tax returns, financial statements, etc.• Performing on-site visits to the offices of DBE applicant or DBE certified firms and on-site visit to job sites as appropriate;• Interviewing principal officers and key employees of the applicant firms;• Documenting eligibility determination decisions and reasons therefore, and drafting correspondence to firms to communicate these determinations;• Responding to inquiries related to DBE certifications and requirements; and• Evaluating and drafting responses to, complaints regarding DBE certification eligibility.Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: Six years of experience in:- the review, investigation, and/or evaluation of compliance with equal employment opportunity laws, rules and regulations;- the planning, development, implementation, and review of programs dealing with equal employment opportunity, human rights, affirmative action, minority business program coordination, and/or labor relations directly relating to affirmative action; or in- the development and administration of programs designed to facilitate minority community access to employment or business opportunities in the public and private sector.A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience. A master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
