Join us! **Location Overview:** Based in the 8th arrondissement and within the Parisian Golden Triangle, our beautiful Art-Deco era office benefits from luxury modern workspaces, an abundance of natural light and is easily accessible by public transport. **Role Overview:** An opportunity has arisen in our Paris office for a forward-thinking professional to lead our second line of defence Compliance and Operational Risk coverage of Global Corporate and Investment Banking for Bank of America Europe DAC (‘BofA Europe’). You will execute on the firm’s Global Compliance and Operational Risk (‘GCOR’) programme specialising in the day-to-day Compliance coverage of Private Side businesses. This role is responsible for executing second line of defence compliance and operational risk oversight for the Front Line Unit. Key responsibilities include ensuring requirements of the Global Compliance Enterprise Policy, the Operational Risk Management Enterprise Policy, the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures are implemented appropriately, and identifying, challenging, escalating, and mitigating risks in a timely manner. **Responsibilities:** + Provide ongoing Compliance and Operational Risk coverage for the Private Side businesses in BofA Europe with principal focus being the Global Corporate & Investment Banking (‘GCIB’) business in the entity and more broadly across EMEA. Provide additional support to other EMEA GCIB coverage areas as required. + Provide dedicated, timely guidance on the relevant Laws, Rules and Regulations (‘LRR’) applicable to the entity and its businesses including risk and impact assessments on new product initiatives, specific transactions, ad hoc queries, routine risk assessment processes such as the RCSA etc. + Be proficient in assessing risks, associated controls and their effectiveness, while driving compliance with applicable LRRs and regulatory guidelines, adhering to policies, and developing reporting and documentation. + Engage in activities to provide support to the GCOR function to provide independent 2nd line oversight of Front Line Unit ownership and management of Compliance and Operational risks in alignment with the Compliance and Operational Risk Management Program and Standard Operating Procedures. + Monitor the regulatory environment to identify regulatory changes applicable to area(s) of coverage, and execute Targeted Assessments aligned to relevant themes or trends. + Ensure that Monitoring & Testing is conducted in line with GCOR programme requirements and on a timely basis with appropriate escalation and resolution of any issues or matters arising. + Assist in identifying and escalating control deficiencies or issues that arise and drive actions to address the root causes that lead to compliance or operational risk issues and/or losses. + Assist in the development of independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input into management routines. + As a member of the BofA Europe – Paris Branch Local Management Team (LMT) be accountable for reporting on and escalating Paris Branch Compliance & Op Risk matters + Build effective working relationships with colleagues including Regional LoB Compliance & Operational Risk, EU Country Compliance & Operational Risk, GFCC, the Control Room, other Lines of Business, and across regions + Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries as well as other audits and examinations. + Review and challenge relevant processes and risks, including those defined in Single Process Inventory (SPI). **What we are looking for:** + A versatile, confident individual with significant, relevant work experience in a similar GCIB compliance and/or operational risk role, with a detailed understanding of institutional private side business and banking products + Confident written and verbal communication skills + Ability to engage and communicate confidently and professionally with the business, as well as other internal and external stakeholders + Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to an EU authorised Credit Institution. + Ability to interpret relevant laws, rules, regulations and guidelines and draft/implement related policies and procedures. **Benefits of working at Bank of America:** **France** + Competitive retirement plan in addition to State plans + Mandatory Medical Plan provided by the bank as a top-up to Social Security health benefits for you and your family. + Employees and family members can receive free health advice 24/7 through a range of English and French speaking medical providers + Life and disability insurance + Time Savings Account (‘CET’) to save some of your leave days, cash them out or use them later + Reimbursement of 50% of your commuter pass + Nursery scheme for children under age 3 + Works council benefits + Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for confidential support and help for everyday matters + Opportunity to give back to your community, develop new skills and work with new groups of people by volunteering with local charities + Opportunity to receive free entry to arts exhibitions sponsored by Bank of America in Paris **Bank of America:** Good conduct and sound judgment is crucial to our long term success.
