What the day will look like
As Compliance Officer, you will lead the development and maintenance of a robust risk management and compliance framework for Aon Barbados and its managed clients. You’ll be the key point of contact for all governance, risk, and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to both local regulatory requirements and global best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Acting as AMLCO, MLRO, and primary contact for compliance matters
+ Developing and executing the annual compliance strategy
+ Overseeing due diligence, AML risk assessments, and compliance reviews
+ Providing guidance on regulatory changes and their impact
+ Liaising with auditors and maintaining compliance documentation
+ Delivering AML training to colleagues and client boards
+ Representing Compliance at Board meetings and managing GRC procedures

You’ll collaborate closely with the Local Vice President and Chief Risk Officer (ACIM) and work alongside internal teams and managed clients. You’ll be supported by a global compliance network and have the autonomy to drive strategic initiatives that make a real impact.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Proven experience in compliance, risk management, or governance from within the insurance industry
+ Strong knowledge of AML regulations and due diligence processes
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
+ Ability to develop and implement strategic compliance frameworks
+ Experience in training delivery and policy development
