Compliance Officer
Description THIS POSITION REQUIRES ON-SITE WORK IN PENNSYLVANIA We are looking for an organized and committed Compliance Officer to join our team. In this position, you will conduct inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure adherence to relevant codes, ordinances, and standards. Your contributions will be a key factor in fostering safety and compliance throughout the community. Primary Responsibilities: + Conduct on-site evaluations of buildings and properties to verify compliance with relevant building codes, zoning ordinances, safety regulations, and other applicable standards. + Accurately document inspection findings, including noting violations, areas of compliance, and any required corrective actions. + Assess and enforce adherence to building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other pertinent codes associated with the position. + Work collaboratively with contractors, property owners, engineers, and architects to communicate inspection findings, clarify code requirements, and offer recommendations for corrective measures. + Review and approve permits, issue sign-offs for compliant projects, and carry out follow-up inspections to confirm the completion of required corrections. + Stay updated on changes to local and state codes, ordinances, and industry safety practices to ensure inspections align with current standards. + Foster positive relationships with community stakeholders while maintaining professionalism throughout interactions. Requirements Required Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent (an Associate’s degree or higher is preferred). + Certification or licensure in building inspection or code enforcement (e.g., ICC, IAEI, or other recognized certifications). + Prior experience in building inspections, construction, or a similar field. + Comprehensive understanding of building codes, inspection processes, and local regulations. + Strong communication and customer service skills. + Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations. + Proficiency with technology and software applications for inspection reporting and documentation.
